Will the PNG look better than the JPG?
It will look the same. PNG stops further quality loss, but it can't restore detail that JPG compression already removed.
Why is the PNG file bigger?
PNG keeps every pixel exactly, so photos saved as PNG are usually larger than the JPG version.
Does this make the background transparent?
